Placements24 in Vereeniging seeks a Senior Research Scientist in Immunology to lead and advance immunology research efforts focused on novel immunotherapies and vaccines. You will design and execute advanced experiments, analyze complex datasets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive translational impact.

The role requires a PhD with 5+ years post-doctoral immunology experience, a strong publication record, and expertise in cellular immunology and flow-based assays.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Immunology or related life science field required.
• Minimum of 5 years post-doctoral research experience in immunology with strong publication record.
• Proven expertise in cellular immunology including T cell, B cell and cytokine biology.
• Hands-on experience with flow cytometry, ELISpot, multiplex assays and primary cell culture.
• Experience with vaccine development or immunotherapy research desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute advanced immunology experiments including cell-based assays and flow cytometry.
• Investigate immune mechanisms in disease models and identify novel therapeutic targets.
• Develop and validate assays to assess immunogenicity and efficacy of therapeutics and vaccines.
• Collaborate with virologists, vaccinologists, and clinicians to advance programs.
• Analyze complex immunological datasets and guide experimental strategies.
• Present findings at internal meetings and scientific conferences.
