Job summary

Placements24 in Centurion is seeking a Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, implementation and management of advanced HVAC systems for flagship commercial and industrial projects.

You will drive load calculations, equipment selection, energy modeling, and BIM coordination (AutoCAD/Revit) while ensuring compliance with building codes and green building standards. A hybrid work arrangement is offered.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech. Eng. with ECSA.
• Minimum 8 years of specialized HVAC design experience.
• Experience with building energy simulations and BIM tools.
• Strong grounding in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Experience with LEED/Green Star is advantageous.

About the Role

Our client, a leading firm in sustainable building solutions, is seeking a Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer for their prominent office in Centurion . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and management of advanced Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems for commercial and industrial projects. You will lead the engineering efforts for HVAC components, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with stringent building codes and environmental standards. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to projects from conception through to completion, collaborating with architects, project managers, and construction teams to deliver state-of-the-art climate control solutions, fostering a culture of innovation in green building technologies and sustainable engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop detailed HVAC systems for commercial and industrial buildings, including load calculations, equipment selection, and ductwork design.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs for HVAC installations.
• Conduct energy modeling and analysis to optimize system efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC system issues during the operational phase.
• Stay abreast of the latest HVAC technologies , building codes, and sustainability standards.

Requirements
