Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture with a specialization in Conservation or related field (e.g., Historic Preservation).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience specifically in heritage conservation architecture with a strong portfolio.
• Registered with SACAP as a Professional Architect.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment, research, and documentation of historic buildings for conservation and adaptive reuse projects.
• Develop conservation strategies and detailed design proposals respecting historical integrity.
• Oversee preparation of specifications and drawings for restoration, including material analysis.
• Liaise with heritage authorities to secure approvals.
• Manage project teams and supervise site work to ensure conservation principles are followed.
• Advise clients on heritage legislation and best practices in conservation.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and funding proposals related to heritage projects.
• Mentor staff and contribute to the firm’s heritage knowledge base.
