Qualificações

• Trade Qualification as a Mechanic is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery.
• Proven expertise diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines and powertrain systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical diagrams and service manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding industrial environment in Richards Bay.
• Valid driver''s license.
• Willingness to work shifts and be on standby for emergency repairs.

Responsabilidades

• Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting on heavy plant machinery and specialized equipment.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and servicing according to manufacturer specifications and schedules.
• Repair and replace faulty components including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ensure maintenance and repair activities are carried out safely and efficiently, adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate service and repair logs for all equipment.
• Respond to urgent breakdowns and provide timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Communicate equipment status and required repairs to supervisors and operators.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics where applicable.
• Keep abreast of new technologies and techniques in heavy plant maintenance.
