Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Logistics Planner to lead strategic planning and optimization of complex transportation networks in a remote-first role. You will design routes for national and international shipments and collaborate with sales, operations and customer service to ensure on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Logistics and at least 5 years' experience, strong knowledge of multiple transport modes and TMS software, and excellent analytical and negotiation skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics planning or related role.
• Experience with multiple transport modes (air, sea, road, rail) and their complexities.
• Proficiency with logistics planning software including route optimization and TMS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects remotely.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize logistics plans for national and international shipments.
• Analyze transportation data to identify cost savings and improve delivery times.
• Manage relationships with carriers and 3PLs, negotiating rates and service agreements.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and customs laws.
• Use planning software to forecast demand, manage capacity, and track shipments.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, customer service to fulfill client needs.
• Prepare reports on logistics performance, identify trends and improvements.
• Mentor junior logistics planners.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
