About the Role

Our client, a distinguished provider of elder care services in Cape Town, Western Cape , is seeking an experienced and empathetic Elderly Care Coordinator . This role is critical in ensuring the provision of high-quality, person-centered care for seniors within our community. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing care staff, and developing personalized care plans tailored to the unique needs of each resident. This position demands a compassionate individual with strong leadership qualities and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the elderly. You will play a key role in fostering a supportive and engaging environment, ensuring all residents receive dignified and respectful care. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized care plans for elderly residents.
• Supervise and manage a team of care assistants and support staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Conduct assessments of residents' physical, emotional, and social needs.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals, families, and residents to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the care facility, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage medication administration protocols and monitor residents' health status.
• Organize and facilitate social and recreational activities to promote resident engagement and well-being.
• Handle inquiries from potential clients and their families, providing detailed information about services.
• Maintain accurate resident records, including care plans, progress notes, and incident reports.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment for all residents.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Nursing, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related healthcare field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in elderly care or a similar Community & Social Care role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrated knowledge of geriatric care, common health issues affecting seniors, and relevant legislation.
• Strong leadership, team management, and delegation skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in record-keeping and familiarity with care management software.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with the elderly.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a care setting.
• Located in or willing to relocate to Cape Town, Western Cape .
