Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, subsurface explorations, and laboratory testing programs.
• Perform complex geotechnical analyses for foundation design (shallow and deep foundations), slope stability, retaining structures, and earthworks.
• Develop detailed geotechnical reports, design recommendations, and specifications for projects.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, civil engineers, and project managers to integrate geotechnical designs into overall project plans.
• Utilize specialized geotechnical software for modeling and analysis (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio, Rocscience suite).
• Review construction plans and provide technical support during the construction phase to ensure adherence to design requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior geotechnical engineers and technicians.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and client communications for geotechnical aspects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical standards, codes, and regulations.
• Contribute to business development efforts by preparing proposals and participating in client meetings.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA or equivalent professional body.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Extensive experience with geotechnical software for analysis and modeling.
• In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
• Proven ability to manage complex geotechnical projects from inception to completion.
