The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Geotechnical Engineering, Pr.Eng. with ECSA, 10+ years of experience, and proven leadership in soil mechanics, foundations, and slope stability. Remote collaboration with clients and regulators nationwide.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng.) registration with ECSA or equivalent
• A minimum of 10 years' geotechnical experience with design and project leadership
• Expertise in advanced geotechnical modeling software
• Proven track record managing geotechnical projects from investigation through construction support
• Strong understanding of South African geological conditions and standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of presenting complex findings
• Strong leadership and teamwork in a remote work environment
• Autonomy in time management and delivering high-quality results
• Experience with deep foundations and seismic analysis desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical site investigations (borholes, CPTs, geophysical surveys)
• Perform advanced geotechnical analyses for foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, slopes
• Develop detailed design reports, recommendations, and drawings
• Use PLAXIS, GEO5, SLOPE/W for complex modeling
• Provide expert geotechnical input for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced geotechnical analyses for foundations (shallow and deep), retaining walls, earthworks, and slope stability.
• Develop detailed geotechnical design reports, recommendations, and construction drawings.
• Utilize specialized geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GEO5, SLOPE/W) for complex modeling.
• Provide expert geotechnical input for a wide range of projects, including commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and infrastructure developments.
• Oversee and mentor junior geotechnical engineers and technicians, fostering their technical and professional growth in a remote context.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, project managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical standards, codes, and best practices.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to technical queries during the construction phase.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client relationship management.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
