You will be integral in ensuring the safety and viability of mining operations through expert geotechnical assessments and innovative design solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced geotechnical investigations and analyses for open-pit and underground mining operations.
• Perform detailed stability analyses for mine slopes, tailings storage facilities, and waste rock dumps.
• Provide expert geotechnical advice on foundation design for mine infrastructure, including processing plants and load-bearing structures.
• Develop geotechnical designs and specifications for ground support, dewatering systems, and erosion control.
• Oversee field investigations, laboratory testing programs, and data interpretation.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies for mining clients.

Requirements

• MSc or MEng in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience, with a significant portion dedicated to geotechnical engineering within the mining industry.
