Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to mining and infrastructure projects in Richards Bay and beyond. You will ensure stability and safety of mining structures, slopes, and foundations through rigorous geotechnical analysis and design, providing expert guidance on ground conditions and risk mitigation for surface and underground operations.

The role requires a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, at least 7 years of mining geotechnical experience, and

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of geotechnical experience, with mining exposure.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software (GeoStudio, FLAC, RocScience).
• Strong knowledge of field investigation techniques and laboratory testing.
• Experience in risk assessment and management of geological hazards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations and site characterization for mining projects.
• Perform stability analyses for slopes, excavations, tunnels, and structures.

This role involves ensuring the stability and safety of mining structures, slopes, and foundations through rigorous geotechnical analysis and design.
