Placements24 seeks a Senior Geophysicist to join its global exploration team in a fully remote role. You will acquire, process, and interpret seismic and other geophysical data to identify oil and gas prospects, working with geologists and reservoir engineers to de-risk opportunities.

The ideal candidate has a master's in geophysics or related field and at least 7 years of experience, with strong skills in seismic processing, interpretation, and velocity modeling.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Geophysicist to join their global exploration team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to our asset evaluation from anywhere. You will be instrumental in acquiring, processing, and interpreting seismic and other geophysical data to identify and evaluate potential oil and gas prospects. This role demands advanced technical skills in seismic data analysis and a strong understanding of regional geological frameworks. Working in a collaborative virtual environment, you will partner with geologists and reservoir engineers to de-risk exploration opportunities and contribute significantly to the company's growth strategy, driving innovation in geophysical interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify subsurface structures and stratigraphic traps.
• Integrate seismic data with well log, gravity, and magnetic data for comprehensive subsurface interpretation.
• Perform amplitude variation with offset (AVO) analysis and other attribute studies.
• Contribute to prospect generation, risk assessment, and resource estimation.

• Mentor junior geophysicists and contribute to the development of best practices in geophysical analysis.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geophysics, Physics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in geophysical exploration, preferably in the oil and gas industry .
• Expertise in seismic data processing, interpretation, and velocity modeling.
• Proficiency with geophysical software packages (e.g., Landmark, Paradigm, HampsonRussell).
• Strong understanding of structural geology and depositional environments.
