Job summary

Mass Staffing Projects is seeking a Senior Engineer/Technologist in Geometric Design for Cape Town, SA. You will lead medium to large transportation projects, ensuring quality, timeliness and budget adherence while mentoring a team of engineers and technicians.

With 8–10 years in the field and ECSA registration, you will shape design standards, manage client relations, and oversee bidding, reports, and technical governance across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university/tech
• This item describes required education.
• Professional registration with ECSA is essential
• Minimum 8–10 years' experience in transportation infrastructure
• Strong background in geometric or transportation design
• Knowledge of QA and OHS requirements
• Experience with government standards, codes and documentation

Responsibilities

• Manage medium to large transportation infrastructure projects
• Assist with budgets, resourcing and outsourcing within the function group
• Brief project teams on procedures and standards
• Maintain QA and OHS compliance on projects
• Ensure adequate resourcing of projects with capabilities and specialists
• Ensure projects are completed within time and budget
• Supervise engineers/technicians on checks and inspections
• Develop and mentor team members
• Approve technical reports and ensure outcomes
• Develop design procedures and plan investigations
• Identify and manage risks in bids and tenders
• Win and deliver projects for the function group
• Maintain client relationships and lead generation
