Placements24 invites a Senior Geologist specialized in Base Metals Exploration to join our client, a prominent mining company in Gauteng, based in Tembisa. You will identify and evaluate base metal deposits and lead exploration programs.

The role requires Honours or MSc in Geology, at least 6 years in base metals exploration, strong data interpretation, and proficiency with Leapfrog Geo, ArcGIS, Surpac and Datamine.

Qualifications

• Honours or Master's degree in Geology or Economic Geology.
• Minimum 6 years of exploration experience in base metals.
• Proficiency with geological modelling software (Leapfrog Geo, ArcGIS, Surpac, Datamine).
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with ability to lead field teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and manage geological exploration programs for base metals.
• Conduct field mapping, sampling, and data acquisition.
• Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify targets.
• Develop and update geological models using Leapfrog Geo, ArcGIS, Surpac, and Datamine.

• Excellent field exploration skills, including mapping and core logging.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation capabilities.
