About the Role Our client, a leading e-commerce platform, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Frontend Engineer with a strong focus on React to join their innovative product team. This role, based in the scenic city of George, Western Cape, offers the opportunity to build engaging and high-performance user interfaces for a rapidly growing online business. You will be responsible for architecting scalable frontend solutions, collaborating with backend engineers and designers, and ensuring an exceptional user experience across all devices. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex, interactive, and responsive user interfaces using React and related technologies.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers to implement pixel-perfect designs and ensure a seamless user experience.
• Work with backend developers to integrate frontend components with server-side logic and APIs.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable JavaScript, HTML, and CSS code.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior frontend developers.
• Identify and address frontend performance bottlenecks and bugs.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in frontend development, particularly within the React ecosystem.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology choices for frontend development.
• Ensure adherence to accessibility standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in frontend development.
• Proven expertise in building complex applications with React.js and its ecosystem (e.g., Redux, Context API).
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with state management libraries and tools.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
• Experience with modern build tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel) and package managers (e.g., npm, yarn).
• Understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library) is a plus.
