Placements24 is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join a Vereeniging-based transport team. You will operate a modern fleet, ensuring on-time deliveries, conduct pre-trip checks, and maintain accurate logs.

The role requires a valid SA driving license (Code 10/EC1 minimum, Code 14/EC preferred), a valid PrDP, and 3–5 years of proven driving experience. A clean record and background/drug checks are required. Local routes and steady work offered.

Qualifications

• Valid SA driver''s license (Code 10/EC1 minimum, Code 14/EC preferred).
• Valid PrDP (Professional Driver''s Permit).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as a professional truck driver.
• A clean driving record with no major infractions.
• Thorough knowledge of road networks in Gauteng and surrounding provinces, particularly Vereeniging.
• Experience with various types of commercial vehicles and cargo handling.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good physical condition to handle loading/unloading tasks if required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug test.

Responsabilités

• Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Transport goods and materials to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and cargo, reporting any issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details.
• Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
• Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients at delivery points.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding route status and any potential issues.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
• Adhere to strict schedules and delivery timelines.
• Report any accidents or incidents immediately according to company procedures.
