Job summary

Groupe CFAO in George, Western Cape, seeks a Director/Head of Technical/Production to lead the Technical & Services division. The role requires a qualified Diesel and/or Petrol Mechanic, with forklift expertise, and strong leadership to optimise maintenance and service delivery.

You will manage a team, ensure safety compliance, diagnose complex faults, and drive continuous improvement while keeping customers and operations informed. Fluent English and ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Diesel and/or Petrol Mechanic with forklift experience.
• 3–5 years' mechanical/hydraulic/electrical forklift experience.
• Strong knowledge of auto electrical systems (ignition, starting, charging).
• Excellent communication and work ethic.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and schematics.
• Ability to work under pressure and with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Servicing material handling equipment and maintaining forklift serviceability.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot breakdowns and advise repairs.
• Maintain maintenance data/history and communicate updates to customers/workflow.
• Promote service/maintenance programs.
• Ensure OHSACT compliance and safe working environment.
• Collaborate with workshop team and customers.
