Job summary

Mirna Butler Recruitment seeks a Senior Financial Manager to lead the financial function for the group from Petrus Steyn. You will oversee budgeting, cash flow, and compliance while guiding strategic planning and financial governance.

You will manage a finance team, liaise with auditors and service providers, and drive improvements in internal controls and reporting. Afrikaans fluency and leadership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• BCom degree in Accounting or Financial Management is required/advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a financial management position.
• Professional qualification such as CIMA or CA(SA) will be advantageous.
• Experience in the agricultural industry will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Augtool and Xero accounting software will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of SimplePay payroll software will be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting and cash flow management.
• Knowledge of SARS, CIPC and statutory compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of labour-related compliance including EE, COIDA and SDL.
• Fluent in Afrikaans.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Report to management on financial matters and performance.
• Develop and implement the group's strategic financial plans.
• Manage provisional tax planning, reporting and payments.
• Oversee internal financial processes including cash, debtors and creditors.
• Conduct quarterly internal audits across all financial functions.
• Liaise with external auditors and ensure audit requirements are met.
• Manage relationships with third-party service providers, labour consultants and the bank manager.
• Set objectives and develop performance and development plans for the finance team.
• Prepare and manage budgets and cash flow.
• Review and authorise monthly salary payments.
• Oversee EMP201 and VAT processing, reporting and payments.
• Manage the corporate secretarial function for group companies and trusts.
• Ensure effective corporate governance across the group.
• Ensure CIPC and SARS compliance.
• Oversee compliance with labour-related requirements including EE, COIDA and SDL.
• Manage and oversee HR processes.
• Provide financial guidance to management for strategic decisions.
• Monitor financial performance and provide reporting to management.
• Identify financial risks and implement controls.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Our client is looking for a Senior Financial Manager to join their team in Petrus Steyn. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial management function of the group, supporting strategic planning, ensuring financial and statutory compliance and managing internal financial processes
