Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for a leading financial institution in Mahikeng, North West. This hybrid role combines in‑office collaboration with remote flexibility to strengthen financial planning, analysis and reporting across the business.

Expect to develop robust financial models, perform variance analysis and forecasting, and present insights to senior management. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in finance, solid GAAP/IFRS knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years progressive experience in financial analysis or corporate finance.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; advanced certifications a plus.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, macros) and data analysis abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend identification, and forecasting.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting and long-range planning.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management.
• Collaborate with departments to gather data and understand business drivers.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in finance ops.
• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Monitor KPIs and provide actionable insights.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CA) is a strong asset.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and data analysis tools.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, macros).
• Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Hyperion, Anaplan) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Previous experience within the Banking & Finance sector is advantageous.
• Familiarity with the economic landscape of North West province is a plus.
