Job summary

Conservation International’s South Africa affiliate seeks a Finance Manager to lead financial accounting, donor reporting and budget processes for Cape Town or Johannesburg offices. The role is fixed‑term, renewable based on donor funding, with travel to project sites as required.

Required: BCom Accounting with 5–7 years in accounting, supervising staff, SA tax/compliance knowledge, and ERP experience (Workday preferred). End date 31 December 2028; local terms apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline with SA professional articles.
• 5–7 years in accounting/finance with month‑end close and donor reporting.
• 2–3 years supervising finance staff.
• Non‑profit or donor‑funded project experience preferred.
• Strong SA statutory knowledge (SARS PBO, 18A, VAT, PAYE) and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial accounting, general ledger and monthly close.
• Lead reporting, audit schedules and donor/grant accounting.
• Oversee payroll/banking, cash flow and budget coordination.
• Ensure compliance with SARS PBO, 18A, PAYE and UIF.
• Supervise finance staff and provide coaching.
