Placements24 in Midrand is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to install, maintain and repair complex industrial machinery on-site across Gauteng. You will calibrate systems, diagnose faults, and minimize downtime for manufacturing, mining and infrastructure clients.

The role requires strong PLC, VFD and HMI knowledge, ability to read schematics, and a proactive safety mindset. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Gauteng are essential.

Qualifications

• NQF Level 4/5 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in a field service technician role in industrial automation or heavy machinery.
• Strong PLC, VFD, and HMI knowledge; ability to read schematics and manuals.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Gauteng.

Responsabilités

• Perform installation, calibration, and commissioning of industrial machinery and control systems according to technical specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance and inspections to identify and address potential issues before they impact operations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults, implementing effective repair solutions in a timely manner.
• Provide on-site technical support and guidance to clients, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
• Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used, for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and site-specific regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
• Collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to provide feedback on product performance and customer needs.
• Manage and maintain a comprehensive inventory of tools, parts, and equipment required for service calls.
• Respond to emergency service requests promptly, minimizing disruption to client operations in Midrand and surrounding areas.
