Job summary

Headhunters in Durban seeks a trade tested Millwright with strong electrical and instrumentation skills for a field service role across KwaZulu-Natal. The position requires 5+ years in a related FMCG environment, on-call duties every second week, and travel to client sites.

The ideal candidate will work independently, manage multiple job cards, and maintain safety standards while providing prompt service and technical support to customers.

Qualifications

• Trade tested Millwright with strong electrical/instrumentation knowledge.
• Minimum 5 years in a related field.
• FMCG sector experience is mandatory.
• On-call every second week (7:30–17:30 when on site).
• Willingness to travel across KwaZulu-Natal for client work.
• Ability to work independently with initiative and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair complex machinery quickly and professionally.
• Read manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Run tests and interpret results to guide repairs.
• Install, commission, and train on equipment.
• Write service reports based on findings.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Advise customers and exceed quality expectations.
• Respond to workshop breakdowns or on-site requests.
• Arrange quotes and ensure parts are available.
• Maintain safety at client sites and in-house.
• Be part of standby team.
