Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecoms Engineer in Nelspruit to lead fibre optic network design and deployment. The role is hybrid, guiding installation, testing, and optimization of optical infrastructure essential for high-speed data transmission.

The candidate will bring at least 6 years of fibre optic engineering experience, expertise in FTTx and DWDM, and strong project leadership skills, with CAD proficiency and a track record of delivering complex telecom projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of fibre optic network engineering experience.
• In-depth knowledge of fibre optic technologies including FTTx, DWDM, and optical test equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD software for network design and planning.
• Strong project management skills and experience in leading technical teams.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with site visits as required.

Responsabilités

• Design and plan fibre optic network deployments, including route selection and equipment specs.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of fibre optic cables and equipment.
• Conduct network performance testing and troubleshooting for optical systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to deliver on time and budget.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
