Placements24 is seeking a Senior Event Catering Manager to oversee large-scale catering operations in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will lead a team, drive service excellence, manage client relationships, and ensure seamless delivery of corporate functions and private celebrations.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in event management and catering ops, a hospitality degree, strong leadership, budgeting acumen, and the ability to work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in event management and catering operations.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and delivery of all catering events, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Mentor a team of catering staff, including supervisors and waitstaff.
• Maintain client relationships and understand client needs.
• Collaborate with culinary team to ensure menu accuracy and presentation.
• Manage event budgets and control costs related to food, labor, and logistics.
• Enforce health, safety, and hygiene protocols across sites.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to identify improvements.
• Negotiate terms with suppliers and manage vendor relationships.
• Stay updated on industry trends to enhance offerings.
• Serve as primary client contact during events and resolve issues promptly.
