Job summary

Sasso Consulting (Pty) Ltd in Crown Mines, Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Head of Estimation to lead and manage its Estimation Department. This senior technical and commercial role is responsible for the accuracy, competitiveness and viability of tenders and project estimates across multidisciplinary engineering projects.

The successful candidate will manage a team of estimators, review tender documents, drawings and Bills of Quantities, and ensure timely submissions.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant engineering/project estimating experience.
• 3–5 years in senior or lead estimator roles.
• Experience supervising estimators.
• Strong experience in preparing major tenders and cost estimates.
• Experience with multidisciplinary engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Estimation Department.
• Plan estimating activities according to tender priorities and deadlines.
• Monitor workload and performance of estimators.
• Review tender documentation and establish technical/commercial scope.
• Oversee preparation, review and submission of tenders and cost estimates.
• Provide technical guidance and training to the estimating team.
• Identify risks and opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Ensure estimates reflect direct and indirect project costs.
