Synergy Jobs (Pty) Ltd is seeking a licensed and experienced Professional Engineer (PR Eng) to lead and manage the mechanical seals and expansion joints engineering teams, ensuring compliance with EN, ASME, SANS, and PER standards.

The role requires strong project management, design review, and leadership, including stamping drawings, coordinating with customers and contractors, and ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Active Professional Engineering accreditation from ECSA.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience with pressure vessels.
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards (e.g. EN, ASME, SANS 347, PER), and regulations.
• Proficient in design software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and oversee engineering designs, ensuring adherence to specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
• Stamp, sign, and approve engineering documents and drawings in compliance with licensing requirements.
• Lead or supervise multidisciplinary application and design teams, ensuring efficient project execution and timely delivery.
• Conduct internal site visits, inspections, and evaluations to ensure work is progressing according to plan.
• Analyze technical problems and develop innovative, practical engineering solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and proposals for clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with customers, contractors and other professionals.
• Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and standards relevant to the discipline.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, including environmental and safety laws.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership within the organization.

The ideal candidate must have a strong technical foundation, project management experience, and a deep understanding of regulatory and design standards for pressure vessels. The candidate will play a critical role in designing, reviewing, and approving engineering plans and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
