Danté Personnel Recruitment seeks an experienced Industrial Electrician for a leading manufacturing plant in Benoni, Gauteng. You will maintain and repair electrical systems on automated production lines, with emphasis on PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and control panels.

On-site role requiring strong diagnostic skills and safety compliance. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in automated industrial environments, can read schematics, and is prepared for overtime and standby duties in Benoni.

Formación

• Qualified Electrician with Wireman’s License or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years as Industrial Electrician in automated environments.
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and automation control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Willingness to overtime/standby and Benoni commute.

Responsabilidades

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in an industrial setting.

About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturing and processing plant in Benoni, Gauteng , is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician with a strong focus on automation systems. This role is vital for maintaining the electrical integrity and operational efficiency of our automated production lines and machinery. We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in industrial electrical installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, with a particular emphasis on PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and control panels. The ideal individual will possess excellent diagnostic skills, a thorough understanding of industrial electrical codes, and a commitment to safety. You will be responsible for ensuring minimal downtime of critical automated processes through proactive maintenance and rapid response to electrical issues. This is a hands‑on, on‑site role requiring your presence in Benoni , Gauteng , supporting complex manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Focus on the electrical aspects of automated machinery, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo motors, sensors, and control circuits.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to prevent failures and ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate testing instruments (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and automation systems.
• Respond promptly to emergency electrical breakdowns and provide effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams and production staff to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with recognized trade certification (e.g., Wireman’s License, NQF Level 3/4 Electrical Trade).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician, with specific experience in automated environments.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley), VFDs, and industrial control systems.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding complex electrical schematics and control diagrams.
• Experience with industrial wiring, motor controls, and power distribution systems.
• Familiarity with electrical safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Must be able to reside in or commute to the Benoni area and be available for overtime and standby duties as needed.
