Job summary

SKA South Africa is seeking a Senior Electrical Technician in Cape Town to provide practical support for electrical manufacturing, installation, testing and maintenance across Meerkat and related infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with the functional manager and project managers to ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards.

Qualifications

National Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 9+ years relevant experience.
B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years relevant experience.
Experience on multi-disciplinary projects from concept to close-out.
Good understanding of electrical system design, installation, testing and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Plan site visit objectives to various sites.
Provide conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs for electrical installations.
Direct and manage projects to completion within baselines (scope, schedule, cost, resources, quality).
Ensure facilities and site power operations comply with technical and quality requirements.
Ensure Eskom power supply agreements are met.
Mentor junior employees and site teams.
Conduct electrical system assessments for expansion or refurbishments.
