Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Technician for our Kimberley operations. The role covers installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical systems, supervising junior technicians, and ensuring safety and reliability on-site.

The ideal candidate has a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, at least 5 years of experience with PLCs and VFDs, and strong schematic-reading skills. On-site work with a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent trade qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as an Electrical Technician in industrial/commercial settings.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical systems, including PLCs and VFDs.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, systems, and control panels.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure reliability of infrastructure.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults and implement repair solutions promptly.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals to guide work.
• Supervise and mentor junior technicians, ensuring quality standards.
• Ensure safety compliance consistent with company policies at the Kimberley facility.
