Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician in Soweto to support operations, ensuring reliable electrical systems and preventative maintenance. You will work with Electrical Engineers, inspect equipment, troubleshoot faults, and maintain documentation for compliance and safety.

Requirements include a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, control circuits, motors, and instrumentation.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and diagrams.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical faults in an industrial environment.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations for electrical work.

Responsibilities

• Assist Electrical Engineers in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on electrical machinery, control panels, and power distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults, implementing timely and effective repairs.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Conduct site surveys and gather data for engineering projects.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies regarding electrical work.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, test results, and equipment history.
• Operate and maintain electrical testing equipment.
• Support the commissioning of new electrical installations and upgrades.
• Provide technical support to operational staff and other departments.
