Placements24 in Richards Bay is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to contribute to a growing portfolio of renewable energy projects. The role covers design, development, and technical oversight of electrical systems for solar, wind, and other clean energy installations.

You will collaborate with project teams to ensure reliable integration of renewables into the grid and support site execution with on-site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, focused on renewable energy or power systems.
• Experience with solar PV system design, component selection, and performance analysis.
• Proficiency in power system simulation software (PVSyst, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Knowledge of grid interconnection standards and renewable energy technologies.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize electrical systems for solar PV and wind energy projects, including interconnection studies.
• Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and single-line diagrams for renewable energy plants.
• Perform power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination analysis.
• Manage electrical aspects of project execution, from procurement to commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with site teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to achieve project milestones.
