Job summary

Hatch in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead a team of electrical engineers and designers on major projects. You will define system requirements, develop work plans, and ensure budgets and schedules are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will review technical deliverables, coordinate with other disciplines, mentor junior staff, and uphold Hatch’s commitment to safe, sustainable engineering.

Qualifications

• BSc/B.Eng in electrical engineering.
• Registration as a professional engineer with an approved engineering institution or council.
• Minimum of ten years project engineering experience.
• Experience on large multidisciplinary projects.
• Ability to manage individuals to attain quality, cost and schedule objectives.

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements related to scope, cost and schedule.
• Prepare engineering deliverables and time-based functions to plan and control the engineering budget.
• Develop the electrical work plan for insertion into the project execution plan.
• Develop and maintain the project scope of work documentation and revisions.
• Manage and review the Engineering Work Packages to ensure budgets and schedules are met.
• Review and approve electrical criteria documents, standards and deliverables.
• Coordinate electrical design reviews and cross-discipline collaboration.
• Promote ethical and professional practices in electrical engineering work.
• Ensure OHSA compliance and safety procedures.
• Contribute to the client Project Safety Management Plan.
