Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Lead Electrical Distribution Engineer to direct operations from Kimberley, Northern Cape. This senior role oversees planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of the regional electrical distribution network to ensure a stable power supply and high reliability.

You will lead a team of distribution engineers, manage capital projects, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 9 years of experience in electrical distribution with lead/supervisory responsibilities.
• Knowledge of distribution network design, protection schemes, SCADA, and asset management principles.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering team responsible for planning, design, and operation of the distribution network.
• Develop and execute capital improvement programs for network upgrades and extensions.
• Oversee network planning studies, load forecasting, and reliability assessments.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Manage maintenance, repair, and asset management strategies to optimize lifespan.
