WhatJobs Direct is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Building Services Design to join a leading engineering consultancy in Paarl, Western Cape. You will lead electrical design across commercial, residential, and institutional projects, guiding a team of engineers and technicians through concept to completion.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of progressive experience, expertise in power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and fire alarms, and strong client liaison

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in electrical building services design.
• Pr. Eng. registration is highly preferred.
• Experience leading electrical design on medium to large-scale building projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and DIALux.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the electrical design for building services projects, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and fire alarm systems.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards (e.g., SANS 10142), and client requirements.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively for electrical scopes of work.
• Liaise with clients, architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate designs.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and contractor proposals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and designers.
• Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in building electrical systems.
