Job summary

Haleon in Cape Town seeks an EHS and Compliance Manager to lead the on-site environmental, health, and safety program. You will develop and maintain management systems, provide technical guidance to leadership, and drive top-tier EHS performance in line with national regulations and Haleon standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences, or occupational safety.
• Nebosh Diploma in Safety Management.
• Lead Auditor ISO 45001.
• ISO 14001 knowledge.
• Membership of SAIOSH / SAIOH / SACPCMP.
• 6+ years EHS experience in FMCG/pharma.
• People management experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report EHS performance and share best practices across the site and regional supply chains.
• Ensure site EHS objectives align with corporate EHS plan and priorities.
• Investigate incidents and high-potential incidents to implement improved EHS practices.
• Collaborate with teams to analyse information and determine corrective actions.
• Champion human factors and human reliability in risk assessments and system design.
• Oversee risk management methods and audit/inspection follow-up actions.
• Drive safety culture and encourage safe behaviours.
• Embed behavioural safety in site operations and training.
• Ensure site compliance with Haleon policies and site management system.
• Manage EHS department budget and resources.
• Prepare and execute crisis management processes and business continuity plans.
• Coordinate environmental management to reduce Haleon footprint.
• Maintain certifications like AW Water Stewardship, True Waste, Carbon Net Zero.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into site strategy.
