Job summary

WPP Enterprise Solutions in South Africa seeks a Project Manager with commerce experience and a technical background to join the eCommerce team. You will lead complex initiatives, manage multiple workstreams, and partner with senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates have proven software development project management experience, SDLC knowledge, and strong English communication skills. The role supports a hybrid work setup with four days in the office.

Qualifications

• Proven software development project management experience.
• eCommerce experience, ideally within a retail environment.
• Understanding of the SDLC and release management.
• Ability to define, manage, and deliver to customer expectations within strict deadlines.
• Experience leading teams at different lifecycle stages.
• Experience with modern software development practices.
• Strong understanding of agile delivery techniques and lean ways of working.
• Experience managing people and financial budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
• Provide solutions to issues and blockers to maintain flow of work.
• Produce accurate status reports on milestones, risks, and issues for stakeholders.
• Manage multiple workstreams and interdependencies.
• Inspire and guide teams, driving process improvements as needed.
• Motivate teams to achieve outputs within deadlines.
• Support Junior Project Managers within the account.
• Maintain project budgets and resource plans.
• Build relationships with senior management and stakeholders.
• Align client expectations and resolve escalations diplomatically.
