Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to support safe operation of LV/MV systems in a Cape Town-area manufacturing site.

The role focuses on fault-finding, preventive maintenance and optimisation of process equipment, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and OEM manuals. You will work with operations and engineering teams and may assist with shutdowns and commissioning.

Qualifications

• N5 or National Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Trade test: Electrician or Instrumentation Mechanician.
• 5+ years in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong LV/MV electrical systems knowledge.
• Familiar with SANS standards and regulations.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, P&IDs and OEM manuals.
• Wireman's Licence or MV switching competency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Fault-finding, maintenance and repairs of process equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety and site procedures.
• Review and improve maintenance schedules for reliability.
• Install, calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation and control devices.
• Support CAPEX and OPEX projects as assigned.
• Participate in shutdowns and commissioning activities.
• Update drawings, route cards, and job cards.
