Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of UX/UI design experience with e-commerce or digital products.

• Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility.
• Based in or able to commute to Stellenbosch for hybrid work.

About the Role

Our client, a distinguished and innovative e-commerce company, is seeking a highly creative and user-centric Senior E-commerce UX/UI Designer . This role, based in the picturesque town of Stellenbosch, Western Cape , is instrumental in shaping the digital experience for our client's growing customer base. You will be responsible for designing intuitive, engaging, and aesthetically pleasing user interfaces and seamless user journeys across all digital touchpoints. The ideal candidate possesses a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in UX research, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity UI design for e-commerce platforms. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and marketing teams to translate user needs and business requirements into exceptional digital products. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct user research, including usability testing, persona development, and journey mapping, to gain deep insights into user needs and behaviors.


• Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts and user flows.


• Design high-fidelity UI interfaces for the e-commerce website and mobile applications, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.


• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define design requirements and prioritize features.


• Work closely with front-end developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs and provide necessary assets and specifications.


• Iterate on designs based on user feedback, A/B testing results, and analytics data.


• Champion user-centered design principles throughout the organization.


• Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and style guides.


• Stay updated on the latest UX/UI design trends, tools, and best practices in the e-commerce industry.


• Present design solutions and rationale to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong emphasis on e-commerce or digital product design.


• A robust portfolio demonstrating expertise in user research, wireframing, prototyping, and UI design for web and mobile platforms.


• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator).


• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability heuristics, and accessibility standards.


• Experience working in an Agile development environment.


• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to translate complex user needs and business requirements into intuitive design solutions.
