Formación

• Significant experience as a Drilling Supervisor or similar onshore role.
• Proven track record supervising drilling crews and rig operations.
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, procedures, and safety protocols in Oil & Gas.
• IWCF Level 4 certification is highly desirable.
• Experience in the Western Cape is a plus.

About the Role

Our client, a leading operator in the South African energy sector, is seeking a seasoned Senior Drilling Supervisor to oversee onshore drilling operations in the Stellenbosch, Western Cape, ZA region. This hands‑on role is essential for ensuring that all drilling activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with operational plans and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in supervising drilling crews, managing rig operations, and ensuring the integrity of wells. You will be responsible for leading the drilling team on the ground, making critical decisions, and troubleshooting complex operational challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced drilling professional to contribute to significant projects within the Oil & Gas industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily drilling operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution of the drilling program.
• Manage and direct drilling crews, fostering a culture of safety and performance.
• Monitor drilling parameters, fluid properties, and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of drilling equipment and tools.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks with the rig crew.

• Coordinate with other departments, including geology, engineering, and logistics.
• Maintain accurate daily drilling reports and records.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Drilling Supervisor or similar hands‑on role in onshore drilling operations.
• Proven track record of successfully supervising drilling crews and managing rig operations.
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, procedures, and safety protocols within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proficiency in well control techniques and emergency response procedures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a demanding, on‑site environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., IWCF Level 4) are highly desirable.
• Experience working in the Western Cape region is a plus.
• Must be physically fit and able to work extended hours as required.
