Placements24 is seeking a Senior Drilling Engineer in Randburg to lead planning, execution and optimization of drilling operations across Oil & Gas projects. You will design well programs, select equipment, and manage drilling risks to ensure safe and cost-efficient operations.

The role requires deep drilling technology knowledge, project management experience, and strong leadership to guide junior engineers and rig personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive drilling engineering experience.
• Proficiency in drilling simulation software and project management tools.
• Deep knowledge of well control, drilling fluids, cementing, and directional drilling.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and manage drilling operations including well trajectory, casing design, and cementing programs.
• Select and procure drilling equipment, materials, and services from approved vendors.
• Develop and implement detailed drilling procedures and operational guidelines.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies for drilling operations.
