We are currently searching for a Senior .Net Developer to join our clients team in Johannesburg. This role is offered as a 6 month extendable contract, and you will be required to be on site 4 days a week.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using .NET Core, with a focus on Web API and Worker Services.
• Architect and optimize SQL Server databases, ensuring robust database design, performance tuning, and indexing strategies.
• Implement and manage distributed caching mechanisms to enhance application performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and high‑quality user experiences.

Required Skills & Experience

Extensive experience building RESTful APIs and background services using Worker Services.

Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, dependency injection, and middleware pipelines.

SQL Server:

Proven expertise in database schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance troubleshooting.

Experience with stored procedures, views, and complex joins.

Distributed Caching:

Hands‑on experience with caching strategies and technologies to reduce latency and improve throughput.

Ability to debug and support frontend issues related to API consumption.

Advantageous Skills

ElasticSearch:

Experience implementing search capabilities and analytics using ElasticSearch.

Redis:

Familiarity with Redis for caching, session management, and pub/sub messaging.

Understanding of message queuing concepts and experience integrating RabbitMQ for asynchronous processing.
