Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance IT and software operations. You will automate the software delivery lifecycle, build scalable cloud infrastructure, and implement modern CI/CD practices to speed up deployments.

You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure reliable, secure, and observable systems across AWS/Azure/GCP environments, with a strong emphasis on automation and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in DevOps or a related role with a cloud focus.
• Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash).
• Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid networking, security, and system administration knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment.
• Manage cloud infrastructure with IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Develop and manage Kubernetes-based orchestration.
• Monitor performance and optimize for scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with development teams for deployability and operability.
• Troubleshoot across development, testing, and production environments.
