Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to architect, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure supporting cloud-native applications in Mahikeng, North West. You will automate build, test, and deployment pipelines to ensure high availability and scalable performance.

The role requires deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker/Kubernetes, and IaC tools, with strong scripting and collaboration across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related role.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for IaC.
• Experience in building CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
• Strong networking, security, and OS knowledge (Linux/Windows).
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related role.
• Proven experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong expertise in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and operating systems (Linux/Windows).
