Job summary

PBT Group is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a collaborative technology team delivering enterprise-grade cloud solutions and modern software delivery practices.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Cape Town, with a hybrid working model requiring 3 days per week in-office.

Qualifications

• Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineering experience
• Extensive AWS hands-on experience
• CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code

• Linux scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell)

Job description

PBT Group is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a collaborative technology team delivering enterprise-grade cloud solutions and modern software delivery practices.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Cape Town, with a hybrid working model requiring 3 days per week in-office.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across AWS, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and automation, with a proven ability to design, implement and optimise secure, scalable cloud environments.

Key Requirements:

• Strong senior-level DevOps / Cloud Engineering experience
• Extensive hands-on AWS experience
• Strong CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• Docker & Kubernetes
• Strong Linux and scripting experience - Bash, Python or PowerShell
• AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS/EKS, IAM and CloudWatch
• Experience with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting and production support
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, automation and cloud security
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Ability to work closely with Developers, Architects and Infrastructure teams

Advantageous:

AWS certification, Helm, Ansible, Prometheus/Grafana, SonarQube and experience within microservices environments.

We're looking for someone who is technically strong, automation-focused and comfortable taking ownership of cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines and operational reliability.
