Job summary

Edustaff is seeking an experienced Senior Deputy Head for a forward-thinking school in Gqeberha to join the leadership team from May 2027, overseeing the Junior School (Grades 4–7). The role ensures continuity as pupils progress through Grades 4–12.

The successful candidate will provide strategic, academic and pastoral leadership, drive high standards across academics, sport, culture and wellbeing, and engage with parents and staff to foster a cohesive 4–12 educational journey.

Qualifications

• Strong educational philosophy and ability to translate it into leadership.
• Understanding of child development and preparatory years.
• Drive high standards across academics, sport, culture and personal development.
• Experience overseeing a Junior School boarding environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with pupils, parents and staff.
• Experience developing co-curricular programmes and initiatives.
• Proven organizational, strategic and financial management skills.
• Postgraduate qualification and current SACE registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, academic and pastoral leadership within the Junior School.
• Drive seamless transition and alignment between Junior and Senior Schools.
• Support and deputise for senior leadership when required.
• Foster strong relationships with families, staff and feeder communities.
• Contribute to school-wide planning and decision-making.
