Placements24 is seeking a Senior Blockchain Developer in Johannesburg, Gauteng, to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge blockchain solutions. The role involves building secure smart contracts and scalable dApps across major networks, with a strong emphasis on security and performance.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with product teams, and help shape the architecture of scalable blockchain systems in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on blockchain technology.
• Proven experience in developing and deploying smart contracts on major blockchain networks.
• Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals, consensus mechanisms, and cryptographic principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement secure and efficient smart contracts.
• Build and maintain decentralized applications (dApps) on Ethereum, BSC, and Solana.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring security and performance best practices.
• Optimize existing blockchain architectures for scalability, throughput, and cost-efficiency.
• Integrate blockchain solutions with existing financial systems and third-party APIs.
• Stay abreast of developments in blockchain tech, cryptography, and DeFi protocols.
• Troubleshoot complex blockchain infrastructure and dApp issues.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor junior developers and foster ongoing learning.
