Job summary

Cls in Kempton Park, South Africa, is seeking a Senior Debtors Clerk to join their finance team. You will manage customer accounts, process credit notes, reconcile transactions, and support cash flow by following up on outstanding amounts.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate
• Tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting advantageous
• 5+ years in a Debtors Clerk or similar role
• Experience with large debtor books or high-volume accounts
• Experience with debt collection processes
• Exposure to credit control processes
• Basic accounting knowledge and VAT understanding

Responsibilities

• Process credit notes accurately and verify validity against return notes, short deliveries, and claims
• Maintain and reconcile debtor accounts; prepare monthly statements
• Follow up on outstanding amounts to ensure timely payments
• Resolve customer queries and liaise with Sales, Logistics and Admin
• Assist audits with debtor-related documentation and ensure policy compliance
• Generate collection reports and identify trends for process improvements
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information
