Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead data initiatives in Richards Bay. You will build predictive models, analyze large datasets, and drive data-driven decision making across the organization.

The role requires 5+ years in data science, strong statistics and ML skills, and proficiency in Python or R. Hybrid work model and opportunities for training are offered by the employer.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data science or a related analytical role.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, classification, clustering), and experimental design.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools like SQL, Pandas, and Spark.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms for predictive analytics.
• Clean, process, and analyze large, complex datasets using Python or R and relevant libraries.
• Design and conduct A/B tests and other experiments to validate hypotheses and measure impact.
• Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers to build and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
