Placements24 seeks a data scientist specializing in predictive analytics to join our client in Richards Bay. You will build and deploy models, analyze large datasets, and translate insights into business actions.

The role requires advanced degrees, Python or R expertise, and strong communication. You will collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders, implement experiments, and stay updated on ML trends while contributing to data-driven growth.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in building and deploying predictive models in a business context.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and relevant data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, regression analysis, time series forecasting, and classification algorithms.
• Experience with SQL and working with large relational databases.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and deploy predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement.
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders through visualizations and reports.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate predictive models into operational systems.
• Design and implement A/B tests and other experiments to measure the impact of interventions.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
