Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for our energy sector consultancy client based in Sandton, Gauteng. You will lead advanced market analysis, build forecasting models, and translate complex datasets into actionable insights for diverse clients.

The role requires a strong quantitative background, expertise in statistical modeling, ML, econometrics, and programming in Python or R. Collaboration with consultants and mentoring junior data scientists are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field (data science, economics, CS).
• Minimum 6 years of data science experience in the energy sector.
• Proficiency in Python or R and libraries (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
• Strong SQL and NoSQL database experience.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, time series, and ML.
• Knowledge of electricity, gas, or oil markets.

Responsabilités
