Job summary

Deloitte is building the next generation of AI and data solutions within the Assurance Data Team in South Africa. This hands-on role focuses on developing data-driven solutions with an audit and assurance lens across client environments.

You will work across data engineering, ML, and Generative AI to deliver scalable, explainable, and audit-ready analytics. Expect collaboration with audit teams and ongoing mentoring of junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in a data/analytic discipline.
• 3–6 years of data science, analytics, or related field.
• Strong Python and SQL proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analytics, ML models, and AI solutions for continuous assurance.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, models, and reporting outputs.
• Apply ML and Generative AI to real-world audit/use cases.
• Monitor and improve model performance, explainability, and reliability.
• Create dashboards for reporting with actionable insights.
• Collaborate with audit and client teams to deliver practical solutions.
• Stakeholder management across business and client engagements.
• Manage self and junior team members in solution development.
• Train junior team members in delivery.
